Sometimes, especially after a Windows update (they are often automatic, so you may not be aware it has occurred) this error will begin to appear when launching a MasterMine workbook.
To correct, you need to UNREGISTER, then re-register two DLL's: MSCOMCTL.OCX and MSCOMCT2.OCX
This can be accomplished using the following set of commands in ""command mode"". (Note that in Windows 7 and higher, and Server 2010 and higher, it is probably necessary to launch command mode in ""elevated"" administrative mode, as noted below.)
Click ""Start"" (or Windows 8 equivalent), and enter ""cmd"" in the run box.
Windows 7 and higher: Hold down ctrl-shift, then hit ""enter"". Others, just click ""enter"".
Enter the following four lines:
regsvr32 /U MSCOMCTL.OCX
regsvr32 /U MSCOMCT2.OCX
This should work the same for 32-bit and 64-bit environments, because running the CMD prompt should default you to the proper System32 or SysWOW64 folder. If it doesn't, make necessary adjustments by changing directory (i.e. ""cd C:\windows\SysWOW64"") before commencing the regsvr32 lines.
