Question
There is a problem with the Opportunity table structure in GoldMine. Opportunity custom field types will be ignored. This message occurs when the user selects an Opportunity template. Any custom fields defined in OppManager or Project Manager do no appear in the list for inclusion in reports. What causes this?

Answer

This message indicates that MasterMine was not able to correctly read the custom fields set up for Opportunities. Those fields
therefore don't show up in the field list for opportunity reports.

Typically this occurs because there is some corruption in GoldMine's Opp Manager custum fields setup, often caused because the fields were set up under some
earlier, buggy release of GoldMine that didn't do the housekeeping properly.

Options are these:
1. If you don't use custom fields in Opportunities, or need them for a report, you can ignore this message without issue.
2. You may fix it by removing any custom Opportunity fields, then re-creating them. Note that this will wipe out any data that currently exist
in those custom fields. Make a backup of the OpMgr and OpMgrFlds tables before doing this, just in case you need to recover the data.

This is currently an issue we would like to be able to handle better, but have not been able to effectively isolate specific solutions for,
in part because we have not been able to identify the specific corruptions that cause the issue. If you are able to isolate what is specifically
different at the data level in GoldMine, please let us know and we will be happy to work with you to find a more satisfactory solution.
